Review of Swiss Medtech Expo 2025 in Lucerne

This year's Swiss Medtech Expo in Lucerne was once again an inspiring meeting place for decision-makers, developers, and innovators from the medical technology, pharmaceutical, and healthcare sectors. In addition to the numerous new products and informative technical discussions, one thing became clear: user experience is still a neglected factor, and AI is on the rise—but its success depends crucially on its correct implementation. Why UX is so important in healthcare

Whether in the medtech industry, in a pharmaceutical context, or in clinical environments, software and systems must not only be functional and compliant, but also intuitive and efficient to use.

  • Medical technology: Complex devices require ease of use to prevent operating errors and increase safety.
  • Pharmaceuticals: Digital solutions must comply with regulatory requirements while facilitating the daily work of professionals.
  • Healthcare in general: Patients and professionals alike expect digital services that integrate seamlessly into existing processes and improve the quality of care.

We are actively committed to ensuring that UX design is not seen as a “nice to have” but as a key component of success. Because well-designed user guidance:

  • reduces risks,
  • increases acceptance of new solutions,
  • saves training costs,
  • and builds trust among users and patients.

AI in healthcare – opportunities and responsibility

AI systems have the potential to support diagnoses, make processes more efficient, and enable new therapeutic approaches. But for these technologies to truly gain trust and deliver added value, more than just smart algorithms are needed:

  • Transparency: Users must understand how AI supports them – and where its limitations lie.
  • Acceptance: Only when doctors, nurses, and patients clearly recognize the benefits will they use AI.
  • Security: Regulatory requirements must be met and risks minimized.

This is exactly where our commitment comes in. UX determines whether AI is accepted in everyday practice or fails due to resistance. Especially in the strictly regulated environment of medtech, pharma, and healthcare, it is crucial not to simply introduce AI “on top,” but to integrate it gradually and in a user-centered manner.

Outlook

We look forward to taking the next step together with our partners and customers: developing and introducing solutions that not only survive in a strictly regulated environment, but also create real added value. Interested? Write to us or give us a call!
